Johnny Ryan
Johnny Ryan is a professional vocalist, recording artist and lyricist from Denver Colorado. Ryan’s always been involved in music, even as a small boy, due to the fact that the majority of his family has always been involved in the professional music industry. He actually started out as a drummer at the age of 7 and could be seen performing with his great uncle’s professional swing/jazz/big band. To this day, this tradition lives on with his family. For example, Johnny’s mother is still the lead vocalist of a legendary local rock ‘n roll cover band that performs nightly in the Denver metro area and has for 30 years. It’s with seasoned veterans like the members of his mom’s band, that he began to mold his talent and performance abilities. Whether he was ready or not, they would have him sit in with the band at the age of 15. As Johnny grew up and became more aware of his true passions in music, he realized his real love was singing. After many failed attempts to try and play drums and sing simultaneously, he decided to take up singing exclusively at age 19 and hasn’t looked back. Over the past 10 years, Johnny has been immersed in the local music scene. His most recent activity has primarily been an original progressive rock project with the band Waves On Mars where he is the lead vocalist and lyricist. He and the band are currently working on their self titled debut album “Waves On Mars” as well as performing live shows throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Johnny is also consistently recording guest vocals for other professional projects all over the world through relationships he has created with many esteemed members of the Tom Hess Music Corporation and the Music Careers Mentoring Program. Some of Johnny’s major influences include: Chris Cornell, Chris Robinson, Doyle Bramhall II, Marc Broussard, Robin Trower, Stevie Wonder, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Otis Redding, Al Green, James Brown.
