Neil Mellor
Neil started playing guitar at the age of 9. His first influences were Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne and Guns n Roses. He realized very early on that music would play a big part of his life and started taking lessons from many different teachers. By the time Neil was 11 he was taking three music lessons a week (in classical guitar, rock guitar and music theory).
Later, Neil started listening to the more technical guitarists Like Tony McAlpine, Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, and Yngwie Malmsteen. After school, he went to Liverpool Music College were he studied jazz and popular music. Neil stated teaching guitar at age 17, due to many people at his gigs asking him to teach them. After finishing the music college (and having the degree presented to him by Paul McCartney!), Neil spent the next few years teaching and working at music shops. He also started playing in the studio as a session player for different bands during that time. Neil is an endorsee for Cort Guitars and can be seen playing his signature guitar at trade shows in the UK . He is also writing material for his first CD release.
