I was originally inspired to pick up the guitar by bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Beatles. A short time later I discovered Edward Van Halen and Randy Rhoads and started learning everything I could about music and the guitar. I attended Grand Rapids Community College where I studied classical guitar and earned an associate degree in music.
I became involved with Hess's Music Careers Mentoring Program in 2007. My debut CD titled “Machined” is set for release in Fall 2008. I will be appearing on the Tom Hess Instructional Clinic Tour in September 2008.
I teach out of my home studio and am developing some cool instructional products that will be available in early 2009. I also plan a releasing a new full-length CD by late summer 2009.
Inspiration and influences: Van Halen, Vinnie Moore, Yngwie Malmsteen, George Lynch, Paul Gilbert and pretty much everything that came out on Shrapnel Records in the 1980s. I am also grateful for the help and inspiration of Tom Hess, Danny Danzi, Chad Coggin, Sean Baker, Nick Layton, Paul Tauterouff, Randy Johnson, Jerry Keyzer and all the awesome players and people at Musicianwar.com, the Hess forums and the Racer X forums--you all rock!
