Byron started playing guitar at the age of 13 and was heavily influenced by bands like Motley Crue, Poison, and Bon Jovi as well as guitar players such as Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen and George Lynch. Two of the most important guitarists who helped to shape his guitar style are Vinnie Moore and Eric Johnson.

Over the next several years Byron's musical focus stared to slowly drift away from heavy, guitar oriented music and more towards soul and funk. Artists like Lenny Kravitz, Prince, James Brown, George Clinton and Rick James were the biggest influences on him. Byron began moving away from playing standard power chords and began adding jazzier extensions to them.

Right now Byron is a member of the local band Soundtrack to Monday.  He also had the opportunity to play with several celebrities in his local area such as Josh Logan and Bren Scott.
